WANT A BETTER BUSINESS?START THINKING ABOUT YOUR BRAND.

As a business owner, you're most liking looking over your shoulder wondering where the next disruptive threat to your business will come from. Will it be tech? Your competitors? Perhaps something off-shore? In an age where businesses can perform identical services, and products can be copied, the only difference from your customers perspective, is brand.

WHAT DOES YOUR BRAND SAY ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS?

When most people think brand, they think about a logo. In reality, this is only one piece of a much larger pie. When it comes down to it, brand is about relationships. It's all about the association your business has in the mind of your customer. Whether its positive, negative, indifferent or worse – irrelevant. Your brand represents the total experience your audience has with your business. It's everything from your visual impression (web, print, product etc), to your physical impression (environment, interiors etc), to people and the way you work (culture, service etc).

The best brands have a deep and thorough understanding of all these aspects and continually work at improving and evolving these qualities in-line with where their business is going. Your brand is about who you are, why you exist and why you matter in the lives of your audience. Understanding your brand and communicating it to your customer is essential to building meaningful relationships. Starting a business is one thing – building a brand is a whole other ball-game.

HOW TO TURN A BUSINESS INTO A BRAND.

As a visual medium, The unbeatable quality about design is its ability to cut through the politics, simplify complexity and deliver powerful visual statements in an absolute instant. When it all comes down to it, there are three broad areas at the centre of all brand transformations

Unite

As Simon Sinek famously puts it, you need to start with the 'why'. "People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it." Ensuring your team and company have a collective understanding of why you exist, is essential to creating a united stance on where this company needs to go. A clear 'why' creates focus, provides direction and serves as a continual beacon of inspiration. This is all about gaining a deep understanding of who you serve and why you do business.

Transformation

Transformation takes guts. It's easy to keep plotting along, doing what you've always done. The fact of matter is, if you're reading this, you know instinctively that something needs to change.

Understanding how far to go and which direction to take it is where my expertise kicks in. If you have the ambition, I can show you the way.

Empowerment

Once there's a united and shared understanding of what your company stands for, and we have a brand identity that reflects this vision, we can then empower and inspire your team with the necessary tools to live the brand, bring it life and ensure its ongoing continued growth and success.

It doesn't matter if you're a multi-national corporate, a fresh faced start-up, or a one-man band. These principles apply to all levels of business, across all industries.

WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN FOR YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS?

Hopefully by this point I'm starting to inspire some thoughts in your mind, about what all this means for your business. Here's some key questions you should be asking yourself:

  1. How do you transition from the business you are, to the business you want to be? and what's stopping you from getting there?

  2. Can you clearly articulate why you do what you do, and why it matters in the lives of your audience?

  3. Who do you serve and what do you want to be famous for?

  4. Do you have a brand, or just a business?

HOW I WORK

It all starts with a conversation. I need to know about you who are and where you are on your journey. What's keeping you up at night? What's stopping you from becoming the business you want to be?

The one thing which is critical to all successful brand projects is partnership. I am not a supplier. Partnership is built completely on trust and respect for what we each bring to the table. If we're a good fit, then I'm ready to roll-up my sleeves and give it my all to help solve your business problem through design. Here's how things usually unfold:

Step 1. Understanding

This is where I learn everything I can about you and your business. How you've arrived at this point, your challenges, your ambitions and ultimately understanding what success looks like for you.

Step 2. Define

Once I understand where you want to go, we can define a destination and plot a path to getting to there. This is where we uncover and define some of the critical aspects which make your business unique in the marketplace

Step 3. Design

With our destination defined, we can now move into exploring creative concepts which will transform your business identity, and provide you with the visual assets which serve as the starting point for building your brand.

Step 4. Activate

With your brand identity in place, we focus our efforts in developing high quality applications which bring your brand to life across the key areas in your business.

Step 5. Grow

This is all about the long-term – we look at opportunities which can continue to strengthen, evolve and grow your brand for ongoing success.

let’s talk about you
